One morning, a student stepped off the bus in front of a neighborhood grade school with no shoes on. Hoping for some speedy help, a caring administrator called a family who lived nearby to see if one of their kids might have a pair to spare. The only one in the family that size was Eli. When his mom and dad told him about the student and asked if he wanted to give his shoes away, Eli said, “Yes, but they’ll need socks too… I’ll go get some.” When Eli’s local church heard this story, they wondered how many educators are struggling every day to teach our little ones when so many of our little ones “need socks too.”
That was the beginning of Eli’s Locker, a dream to supply teachers with those often-forgotten items needed to make sure every student (and teacher) is ready to go for class each day.

We are a go!
Dawn Quintana and Pastor Tim have met with the teachers and administration of the White Pass Elementary School. There was genuine excitement and gratitude. There does seem to be a big need for some organization and support around providing for the needs of our community grade-schoolers.
Check in on the Eli’s Locker page regularly for updates as we formulate the list of specific and general needs. Pastor Tim & Cathy Kane are working to cast this vision to our area churches. (Everyone is welcome to pitch in, it doesn’t just have to be church folks.)
All of us will need to step up to purchase the specific items as the teachers turn in their coupons. Additional ministry opportunities are bound to arise from this so be praying asking God how He’s calling you to pitch in.
Initially, we will need some shelving and organizational items for our “locker” at the school. If you just can’t wait… protein bars, baby wipes, leggings, sweatpants, socks, shoes, & lice treatment are already on the list.
Let’s do this!
